NeutraDC's Second Anniversary Brings Waste Management Solutions to 10,450 Residents in Jambidan Village, Yogyakarta

NeutraDC has erected waste management infrastructure, providing waste management machinery along with segregated waste bins for the residents of Jambidan Village.

D.I. Yogyakarta - NeutraDC, the data center business subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), celebrated its second anniversary with a significant commitment to sustainability. As part of its ongoing Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) initiatives, the company introduced a comprehensive waste management program benefiting 10,450 residents of Jambidan Village in Yogyakarta.

The initiative, unveiled during the celebratory events on Monday, March 6, 2024, represents NeutraDC's response to the pressing waste disposal challenges faced by

Yogyakarta, exacerbated by the recent official closure of the Piyungan Landfill. In a strategic move, NeutraDC took a proactive stance by providing machinery and establishing a waste management facility, complemented by the distribution of waste segregation bins to individual households.

CEO of NeutraDC, Andreuw Th A F, expressed the company's vision behind the initiative. "Our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiative is a direct response to the waste crisis in Yogyakarta. With the closure of the Piyungan Landfill, we aim to be part of the solution for local residents in managing waste sustainably in the long term."

Therefore, expanding the provision of facilities, education, and supervision for waste segregation to rural areas is essential. CEO of NeutraDC, Andreuw Th A F, stated "During NeutraDC's anniversary, we aspire to contribute to the environment and educate residents on sustainable waste management practices, envisioning it as the inception of a local economic ecosystem,"

Mart Widarto, Coordinator of the Omah Nyantrik Community, oversees the distribution of waste pulp processed by the machine onto the biopond maggot. The biopond serves as a facility for maggot larvae to consume organic waste.

The waste management facility installed by NeutraDC integrates advanced technology, capable of processing organic waste into biopond maggot pulp. This meticulous process not only efficiently reduces the volume of discarded waste but also generates valuable materials suitable for the local livestock industry. The initiative aligns with NeutraDC's broader commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

The ceremonial handover of the waste management facility and the distribution of waste segregation bins were integral parts of NeutraDC's second-anniversary celebration. The symbolic act reinforced the company's commitment to fostering a sustainable and environmentally conscious community in Jambidan Village.

NeutraDC recognizes the importance of education and awareness in instigating lasting change. Not only offers waste management facilities and structures, NeuraDC also distributes waste segregation bins to various village residents. Providing these waste bins is a strategic move to make it even more convenient for residents to sort their waste from their homes. CEO of NeutraDC, Andreuw Th A F, expressed, "We feel proud and grateful to contribute to environmental preservation and enhance the quality of life for the residents of Jambidan Village. This collaboration reflects NeutraDC's commitment to actively engage in building a community for a sustainable future."

"On behalf of the residents, we are grateful for the waste management facilities now available in our village. We hope to maintain and ensure the benefits of these facilities for all our residents, promoting a cleaner and healthier environment," expressed Susilohadi.

NeutraDC actively engaged with local communities, fostering collaboration to support waste management efforts in the village. Mart Widarto, Coordinator of Omah Nyantrik Community, shared his enthusiasm, saying, "We are excited to be part of NeutraDC's initiative. Through a solid collaboration between the company and the local community, we believe we can create sustainable positive changes for our environment and community."

Furthermore, NeutraDC's waste management program in Jambidan Village aligns with Telkom's overarching Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program, known as EXIST (ESG Existence for Sustainability by Telkom Indonesia). This program emphasizes the three pillars of Environmental (lingkungan), Social (sosial), and Governance (tata kelola), underscoring Telkom's commitment to sustainability.

The waste management program is strategically positioned within NeutraDC's larger sustainability framework, reinforcing the company's dedication to being a sustainable digital ecosystem hub. Beyond the waste management initiative, NeutraDC continues to explore and implement innovative solutions to contribute sustainably to both the environment and the communities surrounding its operations.

NeutraDC's commitment to sustainability is not merely symbolic; it is embedded in concrete actions that have a tangible and positive impact on the environment and society. By fostering collaboration, providing essential infrastructure, and promoting awareness, NeutraDC stands as a beacon of corporate responsibility.
