NeutraDC International Conference 2024 Held, Discussing “The Other Side of AI”
A Platform for Strategic Collaboration Among Industry Leaders, Technology Experts, and Stakeholders from Around the World
Bali – NeutraDC held the NeutraDC Summit 2024 at the Gamelan Ballroom, Sofitel Nusa Dua, Bali, on Monday, August 26, 2024. The summit featured a series of presentations and panel discussions under the theme “The Other Side of AI.” NeutraDC Summit 2024 represents a strategic step in addressing the future of data centers as AI-enablers, aligning with Telkom’s commitment to advancing Indonesia’s digital transformation on both a national and regional scale.
In his online address, Telkom's Chief Commissioner, Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro, discussed how AI plays a role in education and the telecommunications industry. “AI innovation presents both challenges and immense opportunities across various sectors, including education. Amidst rapid technological advancements, we must embrace AI wisely as a tool to enrich learning processes and enhance productivity. AI is not a replacement for humans but a tool that can create more personalized and effective learning experiences. For the telecommunications industry, AI paves the way for business growth, such as the expansion and development of data centers, which are becoming increasingly crucial in this digital era. Collaboration between humans and technology will lead us towards a brighter and more competitive future,” said Bambang.
Telkom's Director of Group Business Development, Honesti Basyir, opened the event by emphasizing the importance of collaboration and innovation in facing increasingly complex industry challenges. In his remarks, Honesti highlighted TelkomGroup’s commitment to leading the application of not only advanced but also ethical technology. "The NeutraDC Summit 2024 is a tangible testament to our commitment not only to lead in technology but also in ethics and social responsibility. At TelkomGroup, we believe that collaboration and innovation are key to addressing future challenges. We continue to invest in technology that is not only sophisticated but also beneficial to the broader community," said Honesti. Similarly, Telkom's Director of Wholesale & International Service, Bogi Witjaksono, stressed the importance of careful planning to ensure a smooth transition when facing AI technology. "AI readiness is not just about technology; it's also about preparing our organizations for rapid change. Every company must not only adopt AI but also understand the key factors that will ensure a successful transition. Through NeutraDC, we are committed to providing guidance and solutions that support the smooth and responsible adoption of AI," explained Bogi while opening a presentation session titled “Assessing AI Preparedness: Strategies for Success.”
“Exploring the Ethical Aspects of AI” was the main topic of a knowledge-sharing session at NeutraDC Summit 2024. Rajesh Sreenivasan, a Singapore-based lawyer and Head of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications division, Co-founder, and Director of Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP, discussed several aspects of AI ethics. He emphasized the need for a balance between technological innovation and responsibility and how this can be achieved through strong governance and ethical awareness. "When we talk about AI, we're not just talking about technological innovation but also about responsibility. Our biggest challenge is ensuring that these technological advances align with ethical values and strong governance. We must find the right balance between success and social responsibility, and that’s the primary focus of our discussion today," said Rajesh Sreenivasan.
