Batam, June 13 2024 – NeutraDC Nxera Batam, a data center company, held a piling ceremony at the site of its data center construction situated in the Integrated Industrial Area of Kabil, Batam City, on Thursday, June 13, 2024. The event was graced by top executives from Telkom Group, the parent company, along with the management team of NeutraDC Nxera Batam. Among the attendees were Honesti Basyir, Group Business Development Director at Telkom Group; Bogi Witjaksono, Wholesale & International Service Director at Telkom Group; Budi Setyawan Wijaya, Strategic Portfolio Director at Telkom Group; Herlan Wijanarko, Network & IT Solution Director at Telkom Group; Bill Chang, Director at Nxera; Imron Gazali, Director & Chief Operating Officer at PT Medco Power Indonesia; Indrama YM Purba, CEO of NeutraDC Nxera Batam; Agustinus Budi Wibowo, CFRO of NeutraDC Nxera Batam; and Kevin Wong Ka Vin, COO of NeutraDC Nxera Batam.
The piling ceremony signifies the initial phase for Telkom Group, through its subsidiary NeutraDC Nxera Batam, to construct a data center with Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure, committed to sustainable development and the utilization of renewable energy sources.
Honesti Basyir, Director of Group Business Development Telkom Group, stated that this event is a significant moment in Telkom Group's efforts to support digital transformation in Indonesia. "We are proud to see this progressive step. NeutraDC Nxera Batam will be a driver in accelerating technological innovation in Indonesia, especially in the field of AI," said Honesti Basyir.
Similarly, Bogi Witjaksono, Director of Wholesale & International Service Telkom Group, added that the presence of a data center with AI infrastructure will create new opportunities for industries in Indonesia to leverage advanced technology. "We are optimistic that NeutraDC Nxera Batam will become a leading data center providing high-quality services to our clients both domestically and internationally," explained Bogi Witjaksono.
These sentiments were echoed by Budi Setyawan Wijaya, Strategic Portfolio Director at Telkom Group, who expressed optimism regarding the innovative strides undertaken by Telkom Group's subsidiary, PT Telkom Data Ekosistem (NeutraDC). "We have faith that NeutraDC Nxera Batam will not only meet the present requirements but also be prepared to tackle future challenges. This investment underscores our commitment to driving sustainable and innovative digital transformation," affirmed Budi Setyawan Wijaya.
Bill Chang, Director at Nxera, conveyed collaborative support with NeutraDC Batam, which can push technological boundaries and deliver optimal data center solutions to meet market demands, especially with plans for AI integration. Imron Gazali, Director & Chief Operating Officer of PT Medco Power Indonesia, also expressed pride in being part of the information technology acceleration alongside NeutraDC Nxera Batam. "We are proud to have the opportunity to participate in the information technology acceleration carried out by NeutraDC Nxera Batam by supporting the fulfillment of electricity supply originating from renewable energy sources. This aligns with the energy transition program initiated by the Government and MedcoEnergi Group to achieve Net Zero Emission by 2060."

NeutraDC Creates Digital Talent in the Data Center Industry and Ensures Sustainable Environmental Resource Management for Data Center Operations through MoU
During the groundbreaking and construction of the data center with AI infrastructure, NeutraDC Nxera Batam entered into several MoUs related to digital talent development and natural resource management.

A collaboration was formed with Batam State Polytechnic to develop digital talents for work in the data center industry. Through the MoU with Batam State Polytechnic, NeutraDC will implement various programs to support human resource development, such as curriculum development tailored to industry needs, providing valuable practical experience for students, sharing job vacancies and employee recruitment, and other cooperation points related to improving human resources in the data center industry.

A partnership was established with PT Kabil Indonusa Estate in the provision and maintenance of clean water needs for the data center development area. This collaboration involves the provision and maintenance of clean water in the NeutraDC data center area located in the Kabil Integrated Industrial Estate in Batam.
Indrama YM Purba, CEO of NeutraDC Nxera Batam, stated that this collaboration is a strategic step in supporting digital economic growth in Batam. "I am pleased with this collaboration. This MoU is a strategic step to ensure that our data center construction and operations are not only efficient and modern but also sustainable, environmentally friendly, and capable of creating ecosystems in the digital world," concluded Indrama YM Purba.
