Telkom Group Established Data Center Ecosystem Through NeutraDC and neuCentrIX
11 Sep 2022
Telkom Group has committed to strengthening digitalization through the development of the Data Center Ecosystem (DC Ecosystem) in NeutraDC and NeuCentrIX. National digitalization is a key factor driving the economy and can be initiated through the development of local digital industries that will act as enablers for digitalization across various vertical industries.
The Data Center Ecosystem is a digital service that provides direct connectivity to multiple network infrastructures, cloud providers, and large-scale storage spaces. For businesses in the digital economy, having access to data centers and broad international bandwidth will support almost all computing, data storage, data security, as well as network and business applications for companies.
During the Bali Annual Telkom International Conference (BATIC) 2022, Telkom Group revealed that it currently operates 27 data centers, including 5 international data centers, 19 NeuCentrIX, 3 tier 3 and 4 data centers, as well as 3 Enterprise Data Centers (Sentul, Serpong, and Surabaya), and 1 Hyperscale Data Center (Cikarang).
The development of these data centers is carried out through the NeuCentrIX service, which is an edge DC connected to Telkom Group's nationwide network infrastructure spread across 19 locations in Indonesia and 5 global locations, providing seamless connectivity and the widest coverage of data centers in Indonesia.
NeuCentrIX also offers international-scale supporting facilities, carrier neutrality, and multi-services for other network providers, which can be maximized by businesses in various sectors including finance, manufacturing, and domestic or foreign cloud computing service providers. On the other hand, NeutraDC is a company that operates hyperscale data centers with global certifications such as Uptime Tier III & Tier IV for global players.
Bogi Witjaksono, the CEO of Wholesale and International Business at PT Telkom Indonesia, stated that the data center ecosystem can provide significant benefits in accelerating business for customers. "Telkom Data Ekosistem (NeutraDC) is a neutral data center where many global players, ISPs, and other digital players are already part of the ecosystem," he said.
The interconnected data centers, comprehensive services, and widespread locations are Telkom Group's steps in creating a globally recognized digital ecosystem. The goal is to assist industries in developing their businesses and ensure the highest standards of digital connectivity services for both global and domestic players.
This digital transformation is also a preparation to accommodate future needs, such as the launch of 5G networks, edge blockchain technology, and the growth of the digital economy in the future. Additionally, the objective of digital connectivity is to strengthen the digital lifestyle, government, and corporate transformations in accelerating Indonesia's digital economic growth.
"The rapid growth of the post-pandemic digital economy, driven by digital transformation and transactions, has created a high demand for data storage and processing with lower latency," said Andreuw Th.A.F, Chief Executive Officer of PT Telkom Data Ekosistem (NeutraDC).
According to Andreuw, NeutraDC, as a digital ecosystem enabler, provides global-standard DC infrastructure with comprehensive network connectivity to ensure business continuity and scalability for hyperscale and enterprise companies. Therefore, NeutraDC actively participates in the development of Indonesia's digital ecosystem.
Since 2015, Telkom has been the first company in Indonesia to obtain international-level certifications (Uptime Tier 3 & Tier 4 Certification) and Tier Certification Operational Sustainability (Gold rating).
